The innovated and developed world of today, people are thinking more and more on investing and making use of their money in the best possible way. That is what makes business the world’s solution to survive ad be well off in this world. If you are planning to start a business of you own, there are many things to consider. And one of these is the commercial building where your business will be operating.

In having your own commercial building, you must consider factors that will make your business become a huge success. The first thing to consider would be the design of the building. The architecture plan should be made in a sense that it would be a head-turner for the passers-by. Think of a design that would define what your business is and a little of what you are. Make sure that there is an aura of hospitability in the place where customers will not rethink before entering the building.

Another factor that you should consider is the market and customers that you will have. Think of a place whereby different kinds of people can enjoy staying in the building and would make them want to come back for more. The architectural floor plans are also necessary. Imagine a disable customer having to go to the far end part of the building just to use the elevator to go to the other floors.

There are different kinds of plans that you could make use of. The foundation plan will be the very start and the groundwork of the building. Site, exterior, section and roof plans should also be done for the architectural plan. Other plans are the framing, floor, HVAC, plumbing and electrical plans.

Hire a good architect to help you with the design and plans that you would have to make. Present to them the idea that you have then also try to compromise with what they think with your plans. If possible and within your budget, hire an architect whose specialty is with creating plans for commercial buildings. Hire an architect whose name is already a foundation in the field. Moreover, along with an architect, you should also hire an excellent contractor.

You should also consider the place where your commercial building will stand. Consider the local planning commission for building examination on design and safety. You do not want your customers to risk their lives just to enter your building. Push your business to success by starting with your commercial architectural plans.

The Empire state building is a place that is very famous and is a major landmark in the city of New York. This landmark place is going to create history by probably being the first place or building that will be green! The environmental retrofit as the project is known, is aimed at mainly decreasing the energy expenditure of the building. The Empire state building is being renovated and changes are being made to give a new look to the building. The cost of this project is $500 million.

Though such a huge amount is being used to change the look of the building, a sum of about $20 million is being used to retrofit the building and it is hoped that it will cause the building to go green. This expenditure is being made to save a lot of energy from going waste. In fact, it is hoped that over 38 percent of energy will be saved each year.

It is hoped that the expenses that are used to refit the building will not only cause reduced expenses in the energy consumption, but will also help many new clients to occupy the building because of the fact that the building will be according to various environmental standards. This will also cause increased revenues because the people who will occupy the empire state building will also be willing to pay more rent for the property.

It is said that this building will be an example as to how a big building could save a lot of energy. The retrofit will also help to reduce the carbon footprint by reducing the effects of global warming. It is also hoped that many other such big buildings will start saving energy by going green. The energy consumption can usually be reduced by using energy efficient elevators and also energy efficient heating and lighting systems.

The Empire State Building is one of the enduring symbols of not only the mighty and strength of New York City, but of the entire modernist movement of the first part of the twentieth century. The Art Deco design and structure of the famous skyscraper is a testament to modern aesthetic achievement and engineering ingenuity.

Art Deco was a major international artistic and design movement in the 1920s and 1930s. The movement was influenced by other Modernist artistic movements like Constructivism, Cubism, Futurism, and Art Nouveau, and drew on other sources as well. The designs of Art Deco were based in geographical shapes and streamlined stylized forms. Art Deco influenced architecture, as well as industrial and interior design for things such as skyscrapers, train stations, bridges, paintings, graphic arts, fashion and film. The Empire State Building and The Chrysler Building in New York, the Foster and Guardian buildings in Detroit, Michigan, and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco are all examples of architecture inspired by Art Deco.

The Empire State Building was built in 1930-1931 as part of a race to see who could build the tallest building. Designed by the architectural firm of Shreve, Lamb and Harmon, the Empire State Building’s form was said to have inspired by the shape of a pencil. The skyscraper is stepped or tiered like a pyramid. Originally, the building was planned with a flat roof, but a metal plated tower or “hat” was added to the top of the building to give it more height.

Art Deco influences can be seen in the structural features as well as the exterior and interior design of the building. Plant geometry forms like circles, triangles, and squares merge with solid geometrical forms like cubes, cones and spheres to give the building a sense of balance and elegance. Rectangular windows also give the building a distinctive and striking look.

The building has four faceted faces rather than the usual one. The base of the building contains sets of vertical, convex bands cut into the limestone that gives the base a stouter appearance. From the midsection of the building, the upper tower rises up to an observatory on the top floor and capped with a spire that was originally designed as a landing for dirigibles.

Modernistic canopies are in place at the 33rd and 34th street entrances. The Art Deco-inspired lobby consists of three floors of multi-colored marble and granite. The walls are decorated with large bronze medallions and a metal mosaic that features the Empire State Building at the center of the universe. The ceiling is decorated with aluminum, platinum and gold leaf in a design of stars and circles.

The Empire State Building is one of the most recognizable buildings in the world, due to its distinctive architecture as well as its prominent place in one of the leading cities of the world, New York City. The Empire State Building continues to be an enduring symbol and popular culture icon in the history of modern architecture.

The Empire State Building, located at 350 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New York City is one of the most famous buildings in the entire world. The 102-story, 1,472 foot high building is primarily an office building with 15,000 office spaces available, but also contains a shopping mall, telecommunications and broadcasting center and serves as a tourist attraction with its two observation decks and New York Skyride tour. When the building was first complete in 1931 it was at the height of the Depression and the owners of the building found it hard to rent out the office space. Some New Yorkers began calling the building the Empty State Building.

Some of the more noteworthy office tenants include: Accessory Network Group, Capital Markets Group, Boy Scouts of America, Coty Inc., Brennan Beer Gorman Architects, Goldin Associates LLC, Garan, Inc, Funaro & Co., P.C., Juicy Couture, Human Rights Watch, Skanska USA , Lufthansa Airlines and Taylor Communications. Retail clients include: AT&T Experience Store, Cafe Europa, Bank of America, Federal Express, Chipotle, Men’s Wearhouse, Heartland Brewery, Walgreen’s and Starbucks.

The Empire State Building is also a major tourist attraction. Over 3.5 million people visit the building each year. The building offers two observatory decks on the 86th floor and 102nd floor that offers breathtaking panoramic views of New York City and the surrounding regions. On clear days one can see up to 80 miles away, and see parts of Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. The building also offers a simulated aerial tour of New York City called the New York Skyride where visitors sit on a platform with an 18-foot high screen and take a virtual tour narrated by Kevin Bacon over New York City.

Many celebrities and dignitaries have also visited the Empire State Building over the years. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip visited the 86th floor observatory deck in 1957. Queen Elizabeth declared the view the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. Other notable celebrities to have visited the famous skyscraper include Fidel Castro in 1959, Nikita Khrushchev in 1959, Pele, the soccer star in 1975, the rock band Kiss in 1976, Fay Wray, the actress of King Kong Fame in 2004, as well as Ronald McDonald and Tom Cruise also both in 2004.

The building has also been made famous by appearing in many movie classics. The building is probably most famous for its appearance in the classic King Kong movie where Kong climbs to the top of the Empire State Building to try to escape his pursuers, only to fall to his death. The skyscraper has also made its appearance in many other movies including An Affair to Remember, Annie Hall, Guys and Dolls, Independence Day, Manhattan, Sleepless in Seattle, and When Harry Met Sally.

The Empire State Building is also famous for its colorful floodlights at the top of the building. There is a yearly lighting schedule that the building follows to commemorate holidays, special events and other occasions. During the Christmas season green and red lighting are used and orange, blue and white lights are used when the New York Knicks are at home playing at Madison Square Garden.

The Empire State Building, currently the tallest building in New York City and one of the most well known buildings in the world, is mostly made up of office space. However, the building also serves as a major broadcasting station for New York City, which is the biggest media center in the U.S. Ever since the World Trade Center was destroyed in September 2001, most of the commercial television and FM radio broadcast stations have used the top of the Empire State Building to transmit their programs.

Broadcasting at the Empire State Building began in 1931, the year the building opened. Experimental broadcasts were conducted by RCA from an antenna that was on top of the building’s spire. RCA rented the 85th floor and built a lab. Later the 85th floor was used for RCA’s television operations. First it was an experimental TV station, W2XBS channel 1. In July 1941, this channel became commercial station WNBT, channel 1 (which is currently WNBC-TV channel 4). In 1940, WEAF-FM (currently known as WQHT), an NBC FM station, started transmitting from the antenna.

NBC had exclusive right to transmit from the top of the Empire State Building until 1950. At that time the FCC broke the exclusive deal because of consumer complaints that they had to constantly adjust their antennas when switching television channels. By this time New York had 7 television stations. They needed to broadcast from a common location so that viewers would not have to constantly adjust their antennas. A giant broadcasting tower was constructed. Other TV broadcasting stations moved into the Empire State Building with RCA up on the 81st, 82nd and 83rd floors, and often brought FM radio stations with them. Construction was completed on the new broadcasting tower in 1951 and multiple FM radio and TV transmissions began. Separate FM antennas were added in 1965 surrounding the 102nd floor observation deck.

Construction of the World Trade Center caused difficulties for the TV stations. Upon completion of the World Trade Center, most of the television stations moved there. At this point the transmitter facilities and antenna structure at the Empire State Building were renovated for the FM radio stations that were still there. Other FM and UHF TVs moved into the Empire State Building from other places in the New York metro area. When the World Trade Center was destroyed, a lot of changes had to make to the transmitter rooms and antennas to facilitate the move of many of the stations from the World Trade Center back to the Empire State Building.

Currently the Empire State Building houses 44 television and radio states, and both digital and analog signals. The building also contains the Western Hemisphere’s biggest FM combiner system. The Empire State Building also has over 100 antennas that provide data communication services and point-to-point radio services to telecommunication and utilities companies as well as public safety agencies. The lower levels of the building have antenna locations that are available for broadband and cellular users.

The Empire State Building is a New York City landmark and one of the tallest buildings in the world. It has been the scene of many memorable moments and occasions. One dramatic event in the history of the famous skyscraper was the 1945 plane crash. On July 28, 1945, a U.S. Army Air Corps B-25 airplane crashed into the Empire State Building’s 79th floor resulting in 14 deaths, dozens of injuries, and over $1 million in property damage.

Decorated World War II veteran and pilot of over 100 combat missions, Lieutenant Colonel William F. Smith Junior, was unable to see through the dense early morning fog that was over Manhattan that morning. Smith was flying from Bedford, Massachusetts and on his way to Newark, New Jersey to pick up his commanding office. The two were then scheduled to fly to their base in South Dakota. The pilot had originally been directed by the air traffic controller to land the plane at La Guardia Airport, but Smith asked for and received permission to fly into Newark instead. The air traffic controller told Smith the he could not see the top of the Empire State Building at that time.

At 9.40 a.m. on that foggy Saturday morning, the B-25 bomber crashed into the Catholic War Relief Office located on the 79th floor of the Empire State Building at a speed of 322 kilometers an hour. The wings of the plane were torn off on impact and left a huge hole in the building. One of the engines of the plane went flying through the building and crashed onto the roof of a nearby building on 33rd Street. Part of the landing gear and second engine fell down an elevator shaft. On impact, the plane’s fuel tanks exploded and the 79th floor went up in flames.

One miraculous story from the plane crash was the survival of Betty Lou Oliver. When the plane rammed into the building, Oliver, who was an elevator operator, was thrown out of her 80th floor post and was severely burned. After being administered first aid she was put into an elevator to be taken down to an ambulance. However, what rescue workers didn’t realize is that the elevator cables had been weakened by the landing gear and engine falling through the elevator shaft. The cable on the elevator snapped and the elevator Oliver was in on the 75th floor plunged all the way down to the sub-basement, falling over 1,000 feet. A hole had to be cut into the elevator to rescue Oliver. Although she was badly injured Betty Oliver did survive the fall.

The pilot, William Smith and two other passengers in the plane were killed as well as two other passengers in the plane. Eleven people in the Catholic War Relief office also died, with dozens of other people suffering injuries. The only consolation to the tragedy was that the crash occurred on a weekend, rather than on a regular workday when the building was more heavily occupied. The property damage was approximately $1 million dollars, but the building was repaired within three months.

The Empire State Building is one of the most recognizable buildings in the entire world. Built in 1931, the famous skyscraper was the tallest building in the world until it was eclipsed by the World Trade Center in 1972. The Empire State Building once again became New York City’s tallest building after the World Trade Center was destroyed in 2001. The Empire State Building is also the second tallest building in the United States behind the Sears Tower in Chicago. The impressive 102-story skyscraper stands at 1,454 feet tall.

The skyscrapers famous Art Deco inspired design was by the architectural firm of Shreve, Lamb and Harmon Associates. The building was commissioned by an investment group led by General Motors executive John J. Raskob, and former presidential candidate and Governor of New York, Alfred E. Smith. The investment group was in a race to build the world’s tallest building, the chief rival being the Chrysler Building that was already under construction.

The skyscraper is a four-facade building made of limestone whose form was inspired by a pencil. There are two observatories on the 86th and 102nd floors of the skyscraper, offering breathtaking views of New York City and the surrounding areas, and a towering spire at the top of the building. Its lobby features multi-colored marble and granite. The Empire State Building is a stately, elegant statement of modernist architecture.

The building was constructed by one of the leading commercial contractors of the day, Starrett Brothers and Eken. The Empire State Building was completed in record time and under the projected budget. The construction firm used fast-track construction techniques, prefabricated manufacturing off site, a sophisticated logistics and planning schedule, and the use of highly skilled workers to complete the massive project in record time. Construction began on March 17, 1930 on St Patrick’s Day and was completed in May 1931.

The Empire State Building opened with much fanfare on May 1, 1931 when President Herbert Hoover pushed a button to turn the lights on to the building from Washington D.C. The building opened during the middle of the Depression and the investors had a hard time filling the office spaces. Some New Yorkers dubbed the building the Empty State Building. The building did not become profitable until the 1950s.

The Empire State Building is one of the crowing achievements of 20th century architecture and construction. It is a symbol of aesthetic and engineering ingenuity and one of New York City’s most famous landmarks. The floodlights at the top of the building draw even more attention to the stately tower. Different colors light up the building against the night sky, according to the season or occasion. The stately skyscraper has also made its way into popular culture consciousness. The building may be best known for its appearance in the classic King Kong film, and has also appeared in countless other films over the years including An Affair to Remember, Annie Hall, Guys and Dolls, Manhattan, Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally.

The Empire State Building is one the most recognizable and world-renown buildings in the world. Situated at 350 Fifth Avenue in the heart of Manhattan, the Empire State Building at 1,454 feet is the tallest building in New York City and the second tallest building in the United States behind the Sears Tower in Chicago. The Empire State Building has two observation decks on the 86th and 102nd floor that offer breathtaking panoramic views of New York City and the surrounding areas. Over 117 million people have visited the Empire State Building since it opened in 1931, and over 3.5 million people visit the building each year.

Over the years many famous celebrities and dignitaries have visited the Empire State Building and its observation decks. In 1957 Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip visited the Empire State Building and enjoyed the view from the 86th floor observation deck. Queen Elizabeth described the view as the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. Fidel Castro, Nikita Krushchev, and even Lassie have also enjoyed views from the Empire State Building’s observation deck.

The skyscraper’s observation deck is also the site of several romantic getaways in movie classics such as An Affair to Remember, Love Affair and Sleepless in Seattle. The observation deck also was the site of a Martian invasion on an old episode of I Love Lucy.

The Empire State Building’s observation decks are open 7 days a week from 8 am to 2 am in the morning. Tickets can be purchased for either the 86th floor observatory, which offers views from 150 feet over New York City or 102nd floor observatory that is 1,250 feet above the ground. There is also an optional prerecorded audio that can be purchased for an additional fee. The narrator of the guided tour is a fictional native New Yorker named Tony from Chelsea. Tony gives his point of view and observations and insights on various parts of New York City and the Empire State Building.

Visitors to the 86th floor observatory take a high-speed elevator up to the 86th floor. The observation deck has both an outdoor promenades on all four sides of the building and a glass-enclosed area that is cooled in the summer and heated in the winter. There are also high-powered binoculars available along the promenade. For an additional fee, visitors can choose to visit the 102nd floor observation deck.

The 360-degree panoramic views from the observation decks are breathtaking and far- reaching. On clear days visitors can see distances up to 80 miles with views of not only New York City, but parts of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania as well. Looking to the east, one can see bridges spanning the East River, connecting Queens and Brooklyn to Manhattan. To the south, the harbor and Financial District are visible. To the west are Macys, Madison Square Garden, the Hudson River and New Jersey. Looking to the north is Fifth Avenue pointing toward Rockefeller Center and Central Park. It truly is a magnificent site to see, from one of the most historic buildings and landmarks in the world.
